Event Description
Inspiring, joyful...excellent performers. - Washington Post
Fronted by multilingual Quebecoise vocalist Lynn Veronneau and superb UK guitarist Ken Avis, VERONNEAU craft a sound that slips effortlessly across borders and genres. Singing in English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish, the duo blends acoustic bossa nova, swing, folk, and French chanson with finely crafted original songs. It’s music rooted in melody, groove, and emotional connection—genre-fluid, song-driven, and unmistakably their own.
A real-life couple with undeniable onstage chemistry, VERONNEAU are known for performances that are intimate, joyful, and deeply musical. They tour extensively throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe, drawing capacity crowds and returning regularly to premier venues and festivals including Blues Alley Jazz Club, the DC Jazz Festival, Strathmore Performing Arts Center, the Kennedy Center, and Callander Jazz & Blues Festival, along with live appearances on BBC radio.
Over a 15-year career, the band has earned seven Mid-Atlantic awards, including honors for Best Group, Best Vocals, and Best Recording and songwriting awards. Their albums have charted in the Top 10 across Jazz, World, and Folk charts, reflecting a musical range that defies easy categorization. Whether performing as an intimate duo or with a full ensemble, VERONNEAU bring the same warmth and precision to the stage as they do in the studio—captured vividly on Live at Blues Alley.
Lyrical, swinging, and globally inspired, VERONNEAU deliver music that feels both timeless and right now.
