A foraging service led by Adele Nozedar, offering nature walks, botanical gin foraging, and custom foraging experiences in the Brecon Beacons area. Foraging is always on foot. I show people plants, trees, butterflies, flowers as well as showing people an older and less hectic way of life.

Some 15 years ago (or possibly longer), I had an idea to write a book about all the flowers, weeds, birds, and other wildlife that I remembered from when I was a child. Although I had spent my earlier days in Yorkshire, I had moved to Wales and was constantly seeing different plants , fauna and flora, and wanted to know more.

I put together a sample of what I intended, and showed a publisher friend. Long story short, it ended up with half a book written and a deal to write the rest, but with an emphasis on plants, with the idea that a further book might appear at a later date.

Bizarrely, the book - (that is, The Hedgerow Handbook) got noticed, especially when a botanical illustrator called Lizzie Harper came on board . Then, I was asked to lead walks at the Hay Festival, and accidentally 60 people arrived....a huge error, but made me realise just how hungry people were for a reminder of a simple way of life...and the word, Foraging, was coined once more, having been used generally at the turn of the century.

I still forage for myself most days, and have guided countless people both in the UK, other parts of Europe, even India.

My books include The Hedgerow Handbook, The Garden Forager, Foraging for Kids, The Tree Forager, Mushroom Miscellany and, VERY EXCITING, the forthcoming Foraging for Healing Herbs; 'Practical Folklore and True Stories'

This book will be in print early next year.
