Powys Green Guide Welcome to

Powys Councils’ Action on Climate and Biodiversity

Everyone across Powys has a part to play in transforming how we think about nature, and what we can do to create a more resilient environment. It is hoped that this page will connect you to your local Council's website, where you can find the plans for your area and support the work they are doing.

Greenpeace states that:

the role of councils in the coming years will be essential in meeting the UK’s decarbonisation targets. Unless progress at the local level advances swiftly, both local and national ambitions to make the country future fit will fail to be realised.

Climate and Ecological Emergency Declaration - these declarations have been made by Councils all over the world. They acknowledge of the seriousness of our situation, and hopefully prompt the creation of a plan outlining what they and their communities are able to do.

Section 6 Report – The Section 6 Biodiversity and Resilience of Ecosystems Duty now requires each Council to report annually on their actions taken, and to set out their plan for the coming year. Links to documents are provided below where possible. To find out more about Section 6 reporting download this pdf

A link to the website of each Council can be found by clicking the icon after its name in the above table.
