Powys Action on the Climate Emergency (PACE)
Event Description
Following the AGM, there will be a presentation by Ashley Collins, Waste and Recycling Manager at Powys County Council. The presentation will include the topics of:
- The recent changes to the Household Recycling Centres, including the booking system and charging for DIY waste
- The regulations that are now in place for commercial recycling, and in particular how this affects community events
- The forthcoming EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) legislation and how this will affect recycling in Powys
- The DRS (Deposit Return Scheme) trials and the pros and cons of the different options.
There will be plenty of time for questions after the presentation.
The AGM will be an open meeting and anyone is welcome to attend, but if you only wish to listen to the presentation, we are aiming to finish the AGM by 8pm and the presentation will start at this point.
