It is easy to grab a few things from the supermarket to add an instant party feel, all to be used once and then thrown away. Try substituting some of these to reduce the plastic load.
Fairy Lights
Fairy lights can instantly make a room magical! Although not recyclable, they can last a few years. If you only want them for a single occasion, you probably have friends who could lend you some. Bunting You can buy cotton bunting in many designs from places such as https://cottonbunting.co.uk/
Replace plastic bunting with material or paper bunting. Recycled bunting also available. Or make your own (lots of demonstrations on Youtube) from either new or recycled material, paper or even recycled books or maps! It can be glued together for an ultra quick job!
Or ask a friend ... Flowers and Greenery Flowers and greenery can make a fantastic show. If for later in the day, be creative with fairy lights and lighting as well. Kids Parties Paper straws are happily now the norm. Plastic masks can be replaced with face paints. It is easy to find small paper carrier bags to make up party bags. Balloons don't have an environmental replacement yet ...
