Community Councils

Helping community councils promote biodiversity. Councils in Wales are required to complete a Section 6 Report every 3 years on how they are promoting biodiversity. Energy consumption is key. Speak to your council on what they can do. See our website for ideas.

Green Library

Green Library - The Library of Things (LoT) in Great Oak Street, Llanidloes, now houses a new community library of ‘Green’ books. Discover new possible futures, encourage greater community resilience, press for change and advise practically on how to live more sustainably.

Books can be borrowed freely by anyone - open weekdays 3-5pm and Saturdays 10-11am.

Community food & green waste collection, composting & training - Queer-led, non-profit

Running Compost mornings with @cultivatenewtown till October.

We're delighted to be back co-creating compost dreams with our friends at Cultivate and hope to see you there!

Set up in 2021, this discovery project received funding to research how businesses can feed into a circular economy making high-quality potting standard compost with a large community element. Did you know that 40% of the World's food is wasted?

Criw Compostio is a non-profit; based in Machynlleth, Powys running a bio-

waste service, taking waste food and biodegradable materials and turning them into

soil nourishing compost for local organic food growing. Waste collection from local businesses in the Dyfi valley. In-vessel, hot and cold composting, liquid feeds

Training on soil care practices, community composting and bio-waste management

systems.
