The Cambrian Coast is served by trains from Aberdyfi to Pwllheli. Also to Aberystwyth, from where there are buses radiating from Pembrokeshire to Carmarthen
The Heart of Wales line runs from Shrewsbury to Swansea and now has special bike carrying carriages.
Both lines are very scenic in themselves and offer numerous destinations for walking and cycling.
Walking Ideas
The canal towpath can be walked from Newtown to Welshpool (12 miles) and return by train or bus, or vice versa, Use the canal safari app for nature observations
